Frank, I wish that were true, however that is actually where I bought the sprayer. No dice. I know I could always stick the thing on/in some trailing equipment with wheels, but what I am after is a simple shelf behind the seat so that my wife won't have any problems backing up. This is needed for areas too small or tight for my big tractor and its 55 gallon sprayer.

Thanks Greg, and I let that &%$%@)*% clerk talk me out of the grade 8's, bought a couple grade 5's as a compromise. I didn't think about it at the time, but when one adds the slip clutch to the drive shaft, one has to remove the outer snap ring from the end of the gearbox shaft. That is what keeps the drive shaft connected to the cutter when a shear bolt shears, avoiding the end coming off and possibly becoming a deadly missile. So it is downright dangerous to use a slip clutch attached with grade 2 bolts. Glad I let my better sense at least prevail enough to get the grade 5's. In Befco's manual, with their slip clutch the bolt they designate is "HH M12-1.25x70 C8.8 Z P" I'll try to find a couple of those and replace my 1/2 inchers with them. At least the one at the gearbox end of the clutch.

Just an update. I did buy a couple cheap pairs of retractable seatbelts from Northern Tool last fall, and with just a couple minor alterations to the areas where they bolt to the tractors during the installs, they work great.

Well, I worked at that hood latch and finally got it to move! Turns out that in the tractor's 8 years (and 91 hours) the hood had only been opened 2-3 times, once for the 50 hour oil change, not ever in the last 3-4 years (and 10-20 hours). So I gave the latch parts a generous spraying of lithium grease and cleaned the radiator screen before reclosing.<br>
Regarding the seat safety switch, I just unplugged the connection. I'll replug it when I'm doing any hilly ground work. I checked with the lead mechanic at the local MF dealer and there really was no other way to run a wood chipper. Or clean a sprayer. Or....<br>
By the way, my wood chipper is a Wallenstein 4 incher, and before my AC5030 died it was working beautifully, no auto feed, the self feed works great.<br>
On another thread I mentioned the broken seatbelt receiver. Today I ordered two $19.99 seatbelts from Northern Tool; They look like they will work on both my MF and my Kubota, I will post once I find out for sure, as I'm guessing I'm not the only person with defective seatbelts.

Regarding factory models with chains from the A-frame to rear, I believe older BushHog Squealers had that; I was going to buy a used one from a local dealer last year but it sold before I had the money gathered. I wondered why the newer models dropped the chains, didn't know if it was a safety issue, never thought about cost before.
Regarding top link via chain vs adjustable, I guess I will experiment with both the next time I do some brush cutting (August). I'll just need to figure out some sort of side sleaves or a Y to keep the RC-end shackle from sliding to one side. I'll post anything interesting then.

By the way, having a forum like this is really neat. I wish it was around before I bought my first tractor -- I wouldn't have wasted my money back then on that Satoh Beaver with its Cat 0 hitch and toy implements.

Thanks for measuring for me! Looks like I'll be ordering the 13" barrel from Weaver's tomorrow - it seems to be a pretty close match to your dimensions. And in general I've more often experienced problems with my top links being too long for an implement than too short, so that 1" barrel length difference doesn't concern me.
Of course I'll always wonder what exotic metal or machining technique Kubota uses to justify their price on such a simple mechanical device....

This is just a side note on making copies of manuals. I recently bought one of those printer-copier-scanner implements for my PC, partly because it was just as cheap as a plain old printer. In going through the settings for the scanner, I found that one can set it up to scan images of, say a manual's pages, directly into a single .pdf file format. This is a lot cheaper than faxing or copying the pages and allows one to then view online or print out as one sees fit.
By the way, I just joined this forum because I figured it already saved me about $1700 -- I was getting ready to order a Jinma chipper before I started reading the comments about it posted here.
