Bear... please keep me posted on your new 7800 ...best of luck with it. Well to tell you the truth I don't know much about tractors so can anyone tell me what the hand hydro unit does and what the 1/4 in vavle unit is and what it does on the 7800. As for all the high tech stuff on compact tractors that sounds like it could be trouble in the long run. As for the wife and the cost I'm sure the 7800 fits right in place.She belevies with JD your paying extra for the name. I guess in my case the basic tractor sounds like the ticket for me.

I just wanted to know if anyone has had the chance to look at the 2710 and the 7800 side by side. If so, what do you think. I'm looking to put 402 FEL, 60" MMM and 48 bush cutter on it. Also any major differences between them ?

I just wanted to thank you guys for all the info that you posted. The 7800 is a hard item to get any info on. I called 3 or 4 dealers in two different states MA and NC and they all told me that they have not seen one yet but heard good things abou it, so with that in mind the info that was posted was very helpful. Besides the seat and headlights (both not a big concern to me at this point)how big a deal are the extender arms, remember I'm new in the tractor world and I'm getting an education with your help with that in mind. I was reading about different types of ballast systems any idea about wheel weights and will they fit on a 2710, 2910 or 7800. Now that I think about it they all use the same size wheel if I'm not mistaken.
