Well, after a shower and supper I decided to start disassembling and removing the linkage completely, more than I did yesterday. I found a roller bearing that was inside two butterfly shaped plates on the right side of the transmission. Cleaned up the bearing then reassembled all the linkage parts and now the hydro pedal returns to center perfectly. I hope this fix lasts. At least I know how the linkage works and what it is comprised of.

I am in the market for a new fertilizer spreader to replace the Agri Fab 175 lb. capacity pull behind spreader I have now. I will be using the new spreader behind my BX 2230 for a 3 acre yard. I like the idea of a spreader powered by the PTO, but have never used one. I don’t have any places where I have to back up so I am also considering a pull behind spreader like the Spyker. Any thoughts on the two I have listed? <br>

Thanks for the replies, gents. I finally found a print of the bracket then called my dealer. He said the part number (K2521-82157) is the same for both the old and new bracket, only difference is the old one is $4 and the new one is $68! Ordered a new one and had the broken one welded up so I have a spare now. Thanks again...

I was not thinking about the ground being on the "other" side and with your example I understand what is going on. At least now I know I have a reliable oil pressure warning light. Many thanks to you gents for your help...

After tilling and getting the linkage area very dusty and dirty I wash off the linkage and lube it. This fixes the problem...

Brian,
My temp gage needle never rises more 1/8" into the dark area on the gage face even when tilling in hot weather. Also, I have had to replace the wire that goes from the electrical harness to the sending unit. The connector broke off the factory wire so I made it a little longer then put a new connector on it.

I have read the Kubota 2230 owner�s manual cover to cover and can't seem to find where it shows the torque rating to tighten the drain plug. I have been tightening it just by "feel", but would like to know if there is a proper torque listed some where. Thanks in advance for any information on the subject�<br>

Once a month our sheriff writes a column in the newspaper and addresses different issues. Last month he did a piece on the use of golf carts, 4 & 6 wheel utility vehicles, and 4 wheel ATVs on the county roads. For the time being it is unlawful to run them on the roads, but you can use the grass along the roads. The state highway in front of our home has tractors, combines, spray rigs, and TLBs on it daily, but all have flashing lights and slow moving vehicle signs on them. The county next to us just voted to let ATVs run on county roads. I would check to see how you local law enforcement officers view your use of utility vehicles and go from there.

When I get done mowing the right of way, which is about 1/8 of a mile, and am on my way back to the garage I raise the deck and then drop it about one inch so the deck does not make the bumping noise like it does in the full raised position. I think it sounds worse than it really is though...

I take the MMM off when done mowing. It just gets in the way when using the FEL and other jobs the tractor does. I can have the MMM off in 2 minutes and back on in about 3 minutes when needed. Also I need to get the tractor in areas that the MMM doesn't fit.

Back in 2005 we build a new house on 3 acres that had been farm field and tilled .25 acre for garden. Our BX2230 and King Kutter tiller (TC-48-XB-O) did a good job considering the rocky soil. Even turned up an old horse shoe while tilling in the garden the first year. I agree with the poor paint issue on King Kutter products, but mechanicaly it has held up good as much as we have used it. We tilled all the areas where landscaping was going in and also two 20' x 200' strips on each side of the property where spruce trees were planted.

My local Kubota dealer sells LandPride and I purchased one of the 5' rear blades. Does a good job for snow removal and the price was right...

I live next to a rather large corn/bean field with ~ a 25' right of way. It is my neighbors, but he does not mow the right of way so when I am done with my 3 acre yard I raise up the deck to 4" on my 2230 and it easily mows the 2' and higher weeds. I even mow at the same speed as I do on my yard. I am amazed at what the little BX will "eat".

Mine only leaks when the FEL is not on the tractor. I still can't figure this one out... I just put a towel on the floor when the FEL is not mounted, but it is most of the time so the leak is minimal.

As to your above statement, I just checked the tire pressure on my BX this week and set them at the spec in the owner�s manual (17 psi for the rear & 25 psi for the front). I have R1s and now that I am done with most of the landscaping chores which involved FEL and tiller work I am now just mowing our 3 acres. I have been rather dissatisfied with the ride quality during 3 hours of mowing on a new lawn which leaves me a little sore. Do you think 10 psi for the rear and 15 for the front is OK for mowing? BTW, I have had no problems with the R1s on the new grass. They are doing just fine and I have no reason to go to trufs for the summer as I had once thought.<br>

I have a stone drive way and use a 5' Land Pride rear blade to clear it. I have to keep the blade up a few inches so I do not roll the stone into the yard. Well, from the replies I think I will give the bar tires a try on the new lawn when it needs mowed in a few weeks. If I see any damage I will then decide on other tire options. The bar tires sure do a good job when tilling the garden, FEL work, and for snow removal. Thanks to all that replied to my post... and as several of you stated, �No hole shots!�
