I recently purchased a used BM6-900 that was in really good shape for $1200. Included the drum style Chipper (up to 6" dia), a separate shredder/mulcher (humus material up to 1") chute and large discharge pipe By good shape I mean that the knives were sharp and the exterior had weathering and rust from setting outside. I sanded it down and put a new coat of paint and good as new. Befco will also send you a manual free of charge. I have a Kubota 3130 so it's way more chipper than I have tractor, but I can chip hardwoods such as hickory and oak up to 2" in diamenter (all my tractor can handle). I cut anything larger into firewood. I like the large feeder hole because it can accomodate a limb that has branches so you don't have to cut into smaller sections. Once it grabs onto the branch it usually pulls it in, but not in a way that you have to be worried about losing an arm. I've never used another chipper so I can't give a comparison, but I can tell you this is a horse and really love it.

According to the website it weights 900lbs and recommended hp is 20-50, rpm=1450, feed rate=45 to 70fpm.

Hello Everyone,
Just wanted to update you on my tractor selection. I purchased a Kubota 3130GST 4wd w/FEL and liquid filled industrial tires for $17,500 with 3 years 0% interest. I wasn't really even considering a Kubota until is saw their new Grand L series and then I was sold. I have had the tractor for about a month and couldn't be happier. The same day I looked at the Kubota I visited a Century dealer and was really torn between the two. The Century dealer changed my mind by being honest and telling me that the only 2535 he had on the lot was going to replace one that he had just sold to someone a week earlier, evidently it had a rear end problem. I don't know if was a fluke but I sure didn't want to take a chance on having the same problem. Has anyone else heard anything bad about the Century 2535?

Thanks to everyone for their input. I settled on the GST and is setting in the driveway. Will get back with you in a couple of months and let you know how I like it. Have already moved a couple buckets of dirt (first time I have ever ran a tractor let alone a loader and was moving dirt within 10 minutes of seat time), I wasn't very efficient but got the job done. The only thing I will have to correct or get used to is that when I am on a slope and change direction from reverse to forward I drift farther back than I am really comfortable with. I think I just need to get used to the throttle, shifting and such.
My neighbor had a New Holland CUT delivered the same day so can't wait to do some comparing.

Chipper Capacity: 5" max.
Shredder: 36 free-swinging knives
Shredder capacity: 1" to 1.25" max. dia recommended

Power Req.
Gas: 18hp or 13hp Honda engine
PTO: 540 PTO at 18hp to 30hp
Does anyone know of a better deal? Are there any good websites for manuf./dealers of chippers?
