I've seen these scams too, as I am looking for a 4110 myself. I alerted eBay to this fact, there were a whole string of them like this, for whatever reason, it was popular to use 41XX series tractors for the bogus ads. The scam is has 2 parts. The first is the so-called pre-approval to bid on the 'unbelievably low priced tractor. The sole purpose is to get a valid e-mail address for spamming etc. The second part comes if you are actually trying to buy it. They pull the often used, "let's do this outside ebay via Western Union" trick. As it turn out, eBay replied and siad all the accounts used for this had been hijacked.

JD offers both solid and 2-piece rims on the 4x00 series. When the rear single piece rims are reversed, it only changes the width by a few inches, depending on which tires you have. The 2-piece rims offer a variety of configurations which will give a narrow track up to a pretty wide track. The options and exact width in inches is shown in the manual.

To Doug and Mike<br>Doug, normally I would agree with you but on the 4200, the lift arms are attached below the axle. Since the center hitch only acts to stabilize the trailer ball (keeping it from rotating), I would not anticipate towing with the 3 point would cause the tractor to

The 4200 manual shows a max tongue weight of slightly less than 800#. It also shows that the lifting capacity of the 3-point is much greater than this. This also may be another reason it may be OK to pull using the 3 point. Your thoughts? "> Pulling a trailor w JD4200

I recently purchased a JD4200 w/ fixed ROPS. Now when finish mowing around a lot of trees in the front yard, the ROPS is in the way of a many lower limbs I don't want to cut. Has anyone converted fixed to folding? Any ideas would be appreciated.

I have a JD4200 w/ 420 loader. One of the reasons I went with JD was the ease of removing the loader, which I do every weekend when its time to finish mow. I didn't want the extra weight to rut the yard and it's worked like a charm. Takes less than five minutes to take off and put on. Good luck!

I have an old 4' Mohawk B-4 rotary cutter. It works well but the blades are pretty beat up. I checked on the internet for a phone number in Temple, TX where the ID tag says Mohawk was located, but Mohawk was not listed. Does anyone know if Mohawk is still around or if replacement blades are available?

I,too, looked at the boomer w/ supersteer and thought it was a pretty good tractor. I ended up going w/ the JD4200, one reason being the ease of removing the front loader to eliminate extra weight for finish mowing. I'm not sure about the 25D, but on the JD you can put the left rear wheel on the right rear hub and vice versa (same way for the front)to increase the width of the track for more stability. Liquid weight in the tires will also lower your center of gravity (let the dealer do this).

Craig's right. A JD 4200 is a much closer comparison to the 1530. I looked at the 1530 w/ supersteer also. It'll turn really tight, if that's what you want it to do. I was a little concerned about the possibility of extra maintainance and a lot more moving parts. But it all boils down to what you're going to use the tractor for. I settled on the 4200 Hydro because of the ease of taking off the loader when I wanted to use my finish mower and didn't want the additional weight. Also, my local JD dealer gave me the feeling he would take a lot better care of me in the long run. The JD price was almost identical to the Boomer price in my area. Last weakend, I took a 4' rotary cutter through 1 inch sapplings like butter. Bottom line, compare apples to apples, but don't forget comparing dealer to dealer!

This morning my dealer quoted me $13,000 for a new 1530 hydro 4wd with super steer. Any opinions or experience with this model (I know it's last year's) and opinions concerning the price?
