I just found a site http://www.tractorsnstuff.com and their prices seem to be pretty good on a Lenar tractor that I am looking at. Can anyone tell me if these prices are good? I am new to the compact tractor field.

Hello,
I am excited to be a new "USED" Yanmar owner. I am looking for a service/parts manual for a 1610D. I am also looking for the right and left side brush guards that bolt onto the hood.

Are there any weak points to this unit? Trouble areas should check before use? What type of maintanace should be done? Does anyone have the napa filter numbers? What weight of oil? Ratio for coolant? Lens Website/phone number?

Bob, Thanks for your response to my post,unfortunately, the lift arm broke about a year ago and that's exactly what I did, got it welded and added extra support where possible, however i broke again last weekend. I'd like to locate a used lift arm in good condition and reweld the old one to use as a backup.

Friends - After months of looking, reading your comments and talking to as many people as I can, I think I am closing in on a tractor. I wanted to get your ideas. It is a Ford 5000, 4cy. diesel, serial number B819048. There is another number on it 5M28B. They guy is putting a new loader on it for me, has put new bushings on the front end and is going through the engine right now. It has definitely seen some work and has been kept outside. It's not a pretty tractor, but seems to run well and has good rubber on it. He's asking $7400, which seems like a lot, but might be worth it with the new loader and all. Thanks in advance for any thoughts you might share.

I'm looking at a new low end tractor, for mowing a couple acres of brush, an acre of lawn, and<br>snowblowing in the winter (Massachusetts). It looks like Kubota and Honda both have machines<br>in the $10k - $15k range that can do this. The B7300 or B1700, from Kubota, for instance. However,<br>when I was a boy, you could get a walk behind Gravely that could do all of this and much more,<br>including tilling, a reel mower, a snowplow. Gravely's gone off to Ariens and the landscaping business,<br>but is there anyone else out there making a GOOD (as good as JD or Kubota) walk behind, with<br>multiple attachments for snow, high brush, etc?<br>

Friends - I feel bad about continuing to come to you guys for thoughts, but I have really appreciated the ideas I have gotten here so far. Here is my current question: remembering that we are building a small log home, we need something primarily to move the logs around the property. If it could help raise them up the walls, even better. If it could be used for other purposes later around our 11 acres, that's fabulous. I now have the following possibilities: 1) to buy a recently re-built Ford 5000 gas tractor with either a new bucket on it or a really hefty set of something like hay tines (this tractor could definitely lift my logs for moving purposes and probably handle some of the lifting for the lower walls); 2) to rent a 1950s diesel boom truck for the duration of the project for $1000 (the truck is pretty study and has a boom that could raise logs to at least 14', but it is not terribly maneuverable and might prove difficult to operate when the weather gets wet; or 3) to buy a log arch for $200, lift the logs with a block & tackle system and haul them with my '72 CJ5. Any thoughts?

I just noticed an ad today for a B7100 with loader for $5,900. I don't know anything about Kubota's. Can you point me anywhere that could help me find stats on this tractor?

Friends - I am new to the small tractor world and having a tough time getting good information about the differences between various machines. I'm hoping that some of you can help out with thoughts/ideas. I have 11 acres that needs a lot of work to recover from some not very thoughtful logging. We are building a log house and want to use the tractor to help move logs, in addition to the general landscaping/clearing work. I need a loader and something capable of running a small backhoe, although I probably won't be able to afford the hoe for a while yet. In my area there are presently ads for the following tractors for sale: Kubota 6000, Massey Furguson 35hp, Allis-Chalmers D14, Ford 5000, Ford 2110, Ford 3800, Ford 515, Ford 9n and 8n, JD 2840 and Kubota B1550. I would like to spend approx. $3500, so I don't have very grandious expectations. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
