I am using a compact tractor (Kubota B7800) to mow my grass as well as to maintain a dirt bike track. The property the track is on is littered with rocks that seem to appear as fast as I can pick them up. It is still rideable but painful when you are following somebody. I use a King Kutter disc to turn the dirt over a back blade to smooth it out. However, I wondered if an economical rock picker exists for compact tractors? I know the local shop that rents equipment had a bobcat and a rock hound but nothing for a tractor. The rocks are usually the size of a hand or smaller. Any suggestions on how well rock pickers work or other implements that may work are appreciated.<br>

I am uneducated on the Mahindra, but since my last post I purchased the B7800. This was my first compactor/tractor and so far I think its great. It has far exceeded my expectations. I have put about 30 hours on the machine so far (mowing, discing, building). My couple acres of lawn looks fantastic and I was able to mow (with ease) areas that I thought would require a brush hog. I did opt for a front end loader which has allowed me to build a hand full of jumps on my dirt bike track (some of which were on very steep terrain). It is somewhat addicting making my ideas come to life. I have no complaints so far, but time may dictate otherwise.
You mentioned really liking the Mahindra that you rented. I bet you wouldn't have any regrets owning the 2810. They look pretty comparable to a novice like me in specs. I stayed with Kubota, John Deere, and New Holland because they were the most well known brands I had heard of and I felt more confidence purchasing along those lines.
My biggest advice to anyone would be once deciding on a model--check around for prices. I about fainted when I saved $2 grand for a simple phone call to another dealer.

Interesting to say the least. I haven't had much experience with John Deere other than recently visiting numerous dealerships. In my experience, they were very arrogant, unfriendly, and stop your heart overpriced. I will try to give them the benefit of the doubt because their name is so well known (like Harley Davidson) and maybe that is what makes them so cocky. Hope your luck changes.

I definetly recommend checking around for prices. Unfortunetly, in my area (southwest Michigan) the John Deere dealers were way overpriced and rather unfriendly! Reminded me of buying a Harley. I visited 4 different John Deere dealers and compared to the prices on this forum I thought they were high. I got a couple of quotes on the 4115.
John Deere 4115, w/R4 tires, 410 loader, 60" midmower = $18090 (dealer 1) and $18,400 (dealer 2) + tax.
I also visited, called, emailed a bunch of Kubota & New Holland dealers both in state and out of state. Most of the dealerships were close, but I ended up saving over $2,000 on a KubotaB7800 by checking around. I felt like it was luck of the draw, fortunetly the dealership I bought mine from was only 33 miles away.
