I won't use the bucket forks very often, mostly to lift a man basket for limb trimming. The bucket does multi-purpose duty, therefore I think a removeable set of bucket teeth is the way to go. I looked at some of Rankin's stuff on their site but have not gotten prices yet. I'm hoping to get some "been there, done that" feedback on this.<br>

Followup to my original post. Stopped by my dealer this A.M. & explained the problem to them. The parts counter guy immediately said it was either a defective neutral or parking brake switch. He called a mechanic from the back and asked him to go with me to another L3400 they had for sale. We tried the same procedure on this tractor and it worked great! This mechanic looked at me and said the same thing the parts guy had said!! (The parts guy never told the mechanic what the problem was). When we got back inside, I asked the parts guy how he knew so much about this model tractor. His response was that he tried to know as much as he could about all equipment they sold!!! VERY IMPRESSIVE!! They are going to pick up my L3400 to install the backhoe, subrame, etc. & will address this defect at that time. It really is nice to get this kind of service from a local dealer.

I recently bought a L3400DT w/ FEL and paid about what you were quoted for the JD. I checked out JD, MF, NH & Kubota tractors in the 30-35 hp range. The 3400 was the overall best deal. I have used this tractor to move 20 yard loads of #4 rock, bushhog 5 acres, and constantly use the FEL to move heavy items. I am very satisfied w/ this tractor.
