It's neat to see this thread pop back to life - just goes to show how valuable the Internet is for sharing experiences.

I'm the original poster from way back in 2004 - Yikes! Since my original posting my CC 7205 has continued to meet my expectation. It has 1100 hours on it now, averaging a bit over 100 hours per year, 95% of which are turning a four-foot flail mower to cut 3 to 6 foot tall guinea (cane) grass in our coffee orchard. This is a fairly low-impact use, except when I hit a large rock (infrequently) or bog the engine through some really thick and heavy grass/mulch.

I continue to observe the "clicking" sounds when depressing the clutch while the rear PTO (I don't have a mid-PTO) is engaged. I've noticed no change in this behavior since I first observed it back in 2004.

One question that does come to mind is whether there is a recommended or preferred procedure for disengaging a loaded PTO? My current process is to reduce the engine RPM a bit to around 2000 while quickly depressing the clutch and immediately disengaging the PTO lever followed by engaging the clutch - I do all of this as close to instantaneously as possible.

The grass in the orchard is Guinea or Cane grass, it's a clumping grass and when it's under a foot tall it is not bad at all, but you may be right that even at a foot tall it might be too much for a MMM. It is definitely not "lawn" grass.

My flail is a 48" Rear's Manufacturing SPF-PAK Flail mower. It has 12 pairs of J-shaped knives that hang from the center shaft. They have no problem dealing with the tall (6'+) grass - I just need to go slow. I also use it to mulch up the tree prunings each year - I just need to go slowly and let it digest. The only thing I've ever had it wrap around the shaft is irrigation poly pipe and a length of rope someone left hidden in the grass.

I'm just trying to figure out if there's a way I can mow, tow, and use my loader all without changing implements. Maybe too much to ask, but when I came across the mid-PTO kit it got me thinking.

Thanks! I did manage to negotiate the maze and found the PDF that had all of the tire/rim information. I determined that for my model of tractor I need the 634-3101 part (23 x 6.00 x 12).

I went to the CC order page and entered the part number and up popped "634-3101: WHL ASM:12.0 X 5.0", note the 12.0x5.0. So, clearly there is a mis-match somewhere between the catalog and the ordering system. The price is very good, $68.08 each, so no worries there.

I guess I will need to call them and confirm that it really is a 6x12 and not a 5x12, because I sure do not want to pay shipping to Hawai'i for the wrong part.

Has anyone upgraded a CC 7205 to have dual rears? I've seen JD's with duals, but never a CC. The only local CC dealer has not a clue. I'm looking for increased stability as some of my rows get a little tippy with rocks and roots.<br>
