It's possible I guess. I did go out and look at the only other compact on the lot and it didn't have the screen. This is a new dealer in my area (bought out the old one) and they sure haven't made a very good impression on me with this sale.

I just finished tightening up some hydraulic leaks, installing missing bolts and fixing a tail light that didn't work.

I just traded my 98 TC29D on a new 2003 TC33D and I'm really disappointed in the flimsy rear fenders New Holland has deteriorated to. Is there any known fix for the weak fiberglass fenders? Is this a known issue with anyone? The guy who thought up this cost cutting item and the guy who approved it ought to be fired!

Other than the weak fiberglass fenders the new tractor is nice.

Sullivan-Dave, I have had the exact same problem with my TC29D lately. At first I thought the problem was in the starter solenoid. I even found the battery lead was very loose. The other day it did it again and I started investigating. I took the ignition switch out and checked it out (thought there might be a short in the contacts). It seemed to be okay and I continued checking things. Bear in mind that the tractor circuits were completely dead. The main fuse was fine this time. It had blown before just as yours did. I had the panels off in order to remove the ignition switch so I started wiggling harnesses around and the circuits came to life momemtarily. I kept moving the harness and the instrument panel lit up and stayed on. I never found the exact culprit but now I know where to look. It's a chaffed wire or a loose connection somewhere in the neighborhood of the relays just behind the ignition switch. It has started fine every time now for a couple of weeks. One of my projects for this winter is to find the exact problem.

I feel exactly the same. Sometimes the bottom line dictates which parts a manufacturer uses on their equipment assembly. I've seen a lot of questionable parts used on my truck!

Check this out. It may be a solution to the problem. This appears to be a fairly new product as the website for the filter is still under construction.
