Hello everyone.After alot of thought,i've decided to sell my John Deere 790.I purchased it in November of 2000,and have only managed to put 19.6 hours on it.I am not using it enough to justify the payments.The purchase price was $16,825 for the tractor with 4wd,r-4's,dscv,loader,ballast box,and 261 grooming mower.Any ideas on a fair price? Randy,i have a 790 with a 261 rear mount grooming mower.I had a four wheel gauge kit installed on it,and it cuts great!It did take some getting used to,but i like how quick i can "drop" the mower and move on to something else.That may be something to consider.Good luck!

Thanks Jim.I seem to have such horrible luck at times,i guess i worry too much.Maybe there is nothing wrong.But i will keep a close eye on it in case it gets worse.Thanks again!

Thanks guys. I see your point about the down pressure issue. As much as i try,i can't get the loader to pick the front wheels off the ground.In fact,as i was grading with the bucket last evening,the loader would slightly compensate for the ground condition rather than raise the front end up.The fluid level is fine,and the loader does everything else normally. Anything else i should check? Thanks again,Charles.

Well,i finally did it.I finalized the deal on a John Deere 790 4wd DSCV with R-4's,a 70 loader with 54" bucket,and a 261 rear deck with 4 gauge wheel kit.Gulp,now comes the price. $12,000 for the tractor.$2400 for the loader. $2150 for the deck. Did i get ripped? I tried to talk him down but he said that was as low as he could go.The dealer is very respected,but i can't help but think i got a bad deal.I'm happy to get the tractor,but did i get a fair price? Any opinions? Thanks guys. Charles

Hello guys!I am kinda new to this compact tractor thing,and am faced with several choices.Let me run them by you.JD 4100 4wd HST w/410 Loader,450 Tiller,261 Mower $18,963 tax included. JD 790 4wd manual w/70 loader,550 tiller,272 mower $19,466 tax included. JD 750 4wd standard with 1043 hours w/4 ft woods mower $6900, JD 4200 4wd standard with 43 hours base tractor $10,900. I'm so confused,I fear i will make the wrong decision and regret it. Any advice? Any comments? Thanks guys,i appreciate it. Charles.

just got brand new 790 with loader and bush hog. Love it.Quick question. How high or low should the ballast box be set on? Does it stress the hydraulic system to leave it in mid-range when using it or when parking it? Currently I have it locked/set in high position.thanks

dont know about the pice but the 1920 new holland is a workhorse i have a 98 model with 500 hrs and the tractor is unstoppable. i have an excellent dealer support on equipment and parts, but havent needed many yet. many good tractors out there but the 1920 is hard to beat. just my 2 cents

I took delivery on my TC29D this weekend. I bought it from Antietam Ford Tractor, near Hagerstown<br>Maryland. They were great to deal with. I posted the pricing before, but here it<br>is again: Tc29D, fluid filled industrial tires, 7308 loader, Woods 72

finish mower, $17,689 delivered (tax included in the price). I got a $5378 trade
in allowance on a Cub Cadet 2185 lawn tractor with 48" mower.
This is a great machine which will see a lot of use. I put over 8 hours on it this
