As a proud owner of a Boomer, I,too, have been looking for various NH accessories. My dealer doesn't really get into too many, and has not been real eager to get back to me on my requests for the various NH stuff I see from time to time. Other local dealers in my area are about the same. Maybe someone out there knows of a dealer on line that not only carries enthusiasm for tractor accessories, but also handles all of the NH marketing items, i.e. hats, shirts, jackets, etc.

My dealer said, "you'll find this unit more than nimble." He was right! I mow 5 acres with lots of trees with a TC29D w/o S/S. I have noticed that around certain trees that I have choosen to cut tight around, the turf is spare and can be noticed up at the tree, but not from a distance. I'm pleased with the performance w/o SS. I discussed the SS option prior to my purchase with my dealer. He said the same thing as yours. I beleive that he too was just adding to my fears of maintenance, but I do like the TC29D w/o SS! Pay your money and make your choice!

You have to work at a great price. Check out the Western PA dealers with multiple outlets, and combine that deal witrh other "toys".

I mow 5 acres on a TC29D with a NH914A 60" Mid-Mount side discharge finish mower. I run about 4.5 hours to complete the whole yard. Diesel fuel consumption is about 4.3 Gal. (2500 RPM continuously) I had been running (for 15 years) a Bolens 19 HP HST with a 60" mid-mount side discharge deck. That machine took me about 6.5 to 7 hrs with near 14 Gal. gasoline. What a difference!

I am currently using a 914A mid-mount 60" deck under my TC29D. I can't say enough about the tractor, but I'll leave that for another time. I looked over the market for fabricated decks. NH is one of the few mid-mount fabricated decks available. Fabricated decks have always offered to me what I need in a deck: fixability, ease of repair, a deck that can tame rough areas and keep on ticking! I've had three 60" fabricated decks. The first two were by Bolens and did a great job in holding up and allowing me to fix them as required. I never bragged about the cut of the Bolens product, but the lawn always looked good. I mow 5 acres that began 20 years ago as corn stalks and thistles. Over the years the Bolens decks tamed my barn yard to a nice looking lawn. As the years passed, I made moves up the HP ladder. Now a proud owner of a TC29D, I stuck with a 60" deck primarily because of storage space. I can't say enough about the performance of this deck! I have become rather particular of how the lawn looks around the house, and this deck performs beyond my expectations. It handled the long grass (12-14") this spring with ease (HP counts), and worked well in wet areas, although I don't have any water laying in puddles or pools. I did remove the "Ralph Nader Bolt" from the discharge deflector to allow the deck to take those dip hits that seem to appear from time to time. I also considered the rear discharge deck, but not having any experience in that area, I stuck with what I felt comfortable with since the layout of cash is significant. I highly recomend the NH 914A 60"! A great performer for me!

I am using a new 914A mid-mount deck. I searched the market to find a fabricated deck - most are stamped steel. After initial use, one of the stub shafts for the rear roller wheels broke free - it was just tack welded. I find no blame with NH. I deal with fabricators daily, and fabricated machinery in a shop can experience missed finished welds. I love my fabricated deck. It is something that can be easily repaired with standard welding units. I have experienced no scalping problems, but after having four different tractor systems and decks, all have the need to know your deck and its capabilities! Good luck, and "Boomer" to you!

Sorry to hear of your woes! I just spent 6 hours on my TC29D today mowing in the 80�F heat of Norheast Ohio. I researched the competition to find a fabricated mower deck. The last two tractors I had carried fabricated decks; not the stamped steel decks that are easily found everywhere (you know, the Greens, Reds, and orange ones). My TC29D carries a 914A midmount 60" mower deck. I could not be more thrilled with its performance. Don't settle for less than you deserve! These toys are the ULTIMATE expense! You bought into New Holland, now DEMAND them to perform! Your dealer can help!

As a brand new Boomer TC29D owner, I'm dying to find out if there is a Boomer Club out there. I looked them all over (Green, Orange, Red, and of course, BLUE)and the Boomers just reached out and grabbed me! I love all of the features and found that in direct comparison to the orange one (my dealer has both) the Boomer was the best bang for my buck. I purchased a TC29D with a 914A 60" mid mount mower. It has performed VERY WELL in all of the heavy spring grass - some 14-16" high. Great cut - Great finish. I am interested in not only fully investingating the CTB, but find out if there is a Boomer club or "E-Mail List" somewhere out there in cyberspace. Anybody know where I can get a Boomer Hat?
