thanks for the response. OK here is the update and need a few opinons quick.
The tractor is with the BH, and is under warrenty until Feb 09. The fella is looking to get a zero turn mower. He is my neighbor, he and I are friends. He has been asking just over 14k and has not been able to sell it. Is it that bad of a time to sell tractors? So, he is going to trade it in to the dealer THIS Sat. They are only wanting to give him 12,800. He said that if that was all he could get from them, he would let me have it for that.
It is driving me crazy. I like the tractor, even though I was not as comfortable on it as I was on my JD2210. To be honest the 2210 almost feels stronger than the NH26 when it comes to teh loader. Anyone feel that to be true or not?
Anyway, that is the deal, do I get it? I have a guy that wants to buy mine for 12,000 with the 4"' bush hog, and box blade. So I would have to replace those, and I will have to buy a lawn mower to handle that chore.
I have always believed that when times were good, you have to put some hay in the barn so that when things got bad you had some stash. This will pull from that as I have to lay out some $$$ to pull this off.

thanks you guys. I have been kicking around the idea of selling my JD 2210, which is now to large for the work I have to do around the house, yet to small for the hobby farming that I want to do at our 30 acre place in Camp Creek WV. My thinking was get rid of the 2210, and get a used zero turn mower to handle the 1.5 acres of mowing here at the house, and maybe get the 235 to reclaim some old fields that we have up there which are very very rocky and are far to rough for the 2210 to get in shape for food plots. I would then not have to shell out any $$$ and be able to get everything done. Although the older tractor has some appeal to it and would do the work, I am pretty spoiled with the moden features that are offered in the market today. I have thought about just paying the neighbor up in WV to get the feilds in shape and then take over with the 2210 to maintain them. The first plot will be 2 acres, and then over the next couple years 4 more acres. Any thoughts or suggustions.

Thanks KW. I am still talking to myself about switching tractors. I sure would like to do it. I like the idea of having the BH, just don't know if it will get that much use. I will get under it and see if I can find anything. Thanks again

I would use the money on a 4' box blade. The weight it provides is just fine and once you get a handle on how to use it, you can get a lot done. Save the time of switching back and forth.

Here is what happens to mine. The left rear arm for the 3 point controls the mower deck raising up and down. With your knob in the install position, lower your 3 pt. all the way down, from the right side of your tractor, raise it back up while pushing out on the left arm of your 3 pt. with your left leg (This is like twister). As it raises up you will see that the arm catches a mechanisim which is connected to an 18" long bar that is threaded on both ends (it is on the left side of your tractor just inside the rear wheel. That will allow the deck to go up. Now that it is all the way up, you will be able to set the height that you want on the knob. This is the only time that you can adjust the height. Attempting to do so while deck is not all the way up, will only lead to headaches, and a broken plastic knob. To avoid using this twister method, you can stick a bar across the lower arms and be done. Hope this helps

I am not sure how I missed this post back on 9-19. Something I noticed on my 2210 was that if you do not have a 3pt attachment on the back, the lower arms have a tendency to just hang in the middle, and when you raise the lift, the left arm will not catch the mechanism that lifts the mmm all the way up. I had the same trouble you spoke of until I investigated how the whole thing worked. You should probably put a bar across the 3pt when you don't have an attachment on. I haven't yet, but need to. Hope this helps

What is unsettling is the fact that when you go around and ask dealers what the price will be for a particular truck, the price has a tendency fluctuate. How is that possible you ask...I don't know? I do qualify for X-plan, and still had to shop around. Pretty Sad for a manufacture to be able to operate like that.

There has been alot of talk through the garage about a possible point system change on the horizon. Most of the concerns are the same as the ones mentioned here. NASCAR is traditionally slow in making changes, which often is hard to accept, but when you look at their overall track record, and the way they have managed the growth of the sport, I have to say that they have done an excellent job. There are definitly some times that it is hard for me to see straight over some of the stuff they do.
I was reading an article the other day about the point system, and what they had done was used the F1 system, the CART system and one other, and in all three cases the #17 car was leading the points. Some of the other positions did change. But overall it was close. This was just a few weeks back, but since then the #17 has had two terrible finishes and the #12 has done well, so I don't know what it would look like now, however I think it would remain close.
One thing that I can tell you without a dought, is that those guys are fighting for a win as hard as you can imagine. When they are out there in the heat of battle, they want to win, and that is what they are focused on. It is the crew guys that are usaully on the side of getting a good finish. Now NASCAR has put them on notice for being over aggresive on the track and I am sure that comes into play.
I guess when you look at being a winner of a one-on-one event or second out of 43 there is a difference. Yes you lost, but you did beat 41 other guys. As far as when they get out of the cars after the race and sound happy about being 2nd or 5th,I think because the race is so long, you normally know how good your car is about halfway through. You try and keep up with the track and the weather and how that is effecting your car, and make the right adjustment on your last stop to get the best finish you can. Some times that darn track position is everything and you have to stay out or just take 2 tires. When the race is over, those guys knew about where they were going to finish a long time ago, maybe that is why it is easier to swallow. This past week, the #9 refused post race interviews because he was so upset about having the best car there and finishing second.

Took delivery of my new 2210 last night. We had some showers come through NC late yesterday, but I still had to take it out for a couple minutes. I have some projects that I would like to start on today. Is there any sugjestions on the best way to break it in (engine or drivetrain)? I have a little mowing to do, some brush hogging, and about a days worth of dragging a box blade around. <br>

PS..when the tractor arrived with the FEL on, the FEL was pretty beat up. I can tell that it is where they had it banded in shipping the FEL to the dealer prior to the dealer installing it. I guess that I will end up scrathing it, but that is me. Has this happened to any of you?

I have unknowingly resembled a lot of the remarks express in this thread. Although I will generally remain somewhat in the background, listening, learning, and enjoying the vast amount of information being shared by tractor enthusiasts, what was being said, made sense to me. Hence, Dennis you have my 6 cents per day. I have only posted twice since arriving here a couple months back (on accident), and both were questions, not answers. However I did use the board to make what I believe was a sound purchase. A JD 2210, 210 FEL, 48" box blade, which is scheduled for delivery today. Thanks, to everyone who participates (properly) in this forum.

In regards to the vinegar and salt, would that just be a matter of sparying the ground with vinegar, spreading salt, waiting for it to be absorbed, and whala, problem solved?
I have property that borders a lake, where I have rip rap stone 6' high, on a 45d angle, along the bank. Large weeds, small weeds, small trees, even grass grow up between the rocks, and a couple times a year I have the task of walking the rocks and pulling them up. I am hesitant to use a strong chemical due to the run off entering the lake (not that high quantities of vinegar is). Would this be a good alternative, and is there a certain method of broadcasting that will yield high returns?
