Guys, I will be moving and downsizing soon. I have a L3010 w/ 220 hrs, Befco 6ft finish mower w/ same hours and a 5ft box blade. I am told its all worth $11,000. I may have a chance to trade even for a brand new BX2230 w/ 5ft deck only w/ my local dealer. The BX would suit my needs, what would you guys do?

A lot of it depends on what you need the tractor for at your new house. If you're just mowing a small suburban lot then a dedicated mower may be better suited to your needs. ....

I may have a buyer Mon, if not the dealer said we can trade, he will throw in a few extras. Does anyone know how much hassle it is to change blades on the BX series? I guess I have been spoiled the the rear deck on my 3010! ....

It takes me about 3 minutes to disconnect the MMM on my BX and about twice that to reinstall it. Very easy after a little practice. I take it on and off pretty much any time I am using a rear implement, just to avoid a high center situation if things get sloppy. I've left it on a few times while using a dirt scoop which seems to help counterbalancing. I have never taken the blades off myself though, had the dealer sharpen them during the 50 hour service. ....

You've had a tractor, probably wouldn't like the idea of not having one at all. Need to size up your needs. Will you use it for anything besides mowing? How much lawn? Could you do without a tractor at all? I would guess not to the last question, but don't know your situation.

You can get a rear finish mower that fits the BX series nicely. I prefer the rear finish mowers because of their ease to mount and remove. Depends on whether your lot will allow for a proper mowing pattern to allow the RFM to work well for you.

I would trade for the BX. For the love of everything holy, you can't be without a tractor at all! ....
