I'm a new guy to tractors and would appreciate any info to help decide which one. I've done quite a bit of research, drove both models and they seem pretty equal but the electronic stuff on the Deere scares me as well as the narrower track width and the loader mounts. I'll be trying to smooth out 7 acres of uneven ground, skidding logs and clearing brush then maintaining it with a mower when done. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

To know how to drive the Kubota you have the tractor mastered as there is no special functions for different style of work like with other manufacturers. Kubota designed there hydro's to have low petal effort so peoples legs don't get tired by having a low effort control petal. There are no extra buttons or switches to worry about you just use the tractor and enjoy the time that you own it. There have been no updates or problems that have needed a major recall on the electronic dash board that moniters the speeds of the tractor, engine or PTO and if there was problems later on in the years of ownership they are quite low on price compared to other systems being used. ....

As I read Art's post it seems he unintentionally implied that pedal effort on the L3130 is less than the JD 4310. Both of these machines have a light pedal. The older generation JD 4300 had stiff pedals. ....
