What is a reasonable price for a Kubota B7800HSD 4WD with mid PTO and folding ROPS, a 72 in mid mount mower, and a LA402FL front end loader. I was quoted $13310 + $2745 + $3475 respectively. This seems high to me, it totals $19530. What is a typical price for all of this?
Out of the quoted price, $855 is tabulated as "predelivery/workorders". Is this a customary charge, or just extra dealer profit?

On the predelivery it is all different from one dealer to the other. With incoming freight needing to be included I don't think that is to far out. Does the dealer include "free" delivery during the warrantee period for warrantee work? Does it include a "free" fifty hour service. Does it include caps, one for you and a couple for Chief? Does it include free lodging and air for two to the destination of choice? Just joking! ....

B-7800-retail no frt, no A&H -13999. Loader 3398 mower 2948 most dealers will take about 10% off list and the rest is for profit and frt and A&H costs. That's about the way it goes for most colors. ....

That seems pretty high to me, but then again I am on the other side of the country. I just purchased a 7800 in the middle of November and was quoted $16,900 for the tractor, LA-402 FEL, loaded R-4's, 60" mid mount mower plus 2 hats (sorry Chief I forgot to get one for you). I paid a little over $18,000 but that includes tax, chains for the rear (cross links were two links apart), and a 60" Befco box blade with scarifiers. Listed below is a website that you might be able to use. I fell within the recommended price range. My dealer gave me his best price right up front. Even after haggling with other dealers they couldn't beat his first price. For the price he quoted you I could have gotten the 2910.
Good luck ....

I originally was quoted 12400 for the tractor and 3500 for the loader, but I spoke to my dealer about a price I received elswhere that was 1000 cheaper. He ended up matching it within 100 bucks. He qouted me a MMM for about 2500. There were no pre delivery charges, even includes 50hour filters, and two hats. However, I ended up with New Holland hats, cause the TC30 was just more confy for me. Got it for a little less money too. YMMV ....

bfrncs,
I'm in Jasper, Georgia, quite a ways from Bismark! Doubt that you could ever make a business case for buying this far from home! I bought my tractor from Goss Tractor Co. inc. here in Jasper. I will have to dig out my invioce when I get home, and post the cost breakdown when I get back to work on Monday (currently not on line at home).
When I bought last spring, I posted the cost data here on the boards, you may be able to do a search and find my post. From the responses to my original post, it seems that I did get a very good deal. I have no idea if my dealer would match that price today or not. Regardless of where you buy, I think you will be pleased with the B7800. I am very pleased with mine, the only thing I am not crazy about is the 3PH, I'm used to the 3ph on larger tractors with full control. With the B7800, to make small adjustments, you have to move the 3ph lever up or down, and immediately return it to neutral when you equipment reaches the desired position. Not a real big deal; after 35 hrs, I am getting used to it. ....

Ted,
I believe I got a pretty good deal on my tractor. I purchased it from Goss Tractor in Jasper, GA. I have bought equipment and supplies from Goss for several years, but this is my first tractor purchase. The folks at Goss are very friendly and seem to be knowledgeable about their product line. I would recommend them to anyone in the market for a Kubota. Bear in mind though, that I have not had any service work done by Goss, so I can't comment of how they would treat you on warranty/service issues. I have no reason to think that they would not treat you right, just do not have any experience, so I can't say for sure.
I shopped around in the north GA area, and bought from Goss because they are located around ten miles from our home. Mason Tractor in Blue Ridge offered to match Goss' price, as did a guy in Rome - I can't remember the name of his dealership. Regardless of where you buy, I believe you will be pleased with the B7800.
