Steering wheel cap JD 1050

have a John Deere 1050 in good shape. I bought it missing the steering wheel cap. I ordered a replacement from a JD dealer but it does not fit. The cap is to big for the openning in the steering wheel. The parts book shows only one cap made for the 1050. The steering wheel looks orginal. Would anyone owning a 1050 be able to get a back side diameter measurement off their 1050 cap and post that measurement in response to this message. That may confirm as to whether the steering wheel is OEM or a replacement. Thanks
