(1) I have a friend that needs a steering pin that mates with the worm gear in the steering unit assy.(I think it is a 127) Is that available by itself or do you have to get the whole steering box?
(2) I have looked online for a parts breakdown(Parts manual) for the Cub Cadets. Has anyone located any. I have a model 149 but most is interchangeable. Thanks for all of your help.

All of the parts are available for those tractors and I don't believe they have the gearbox available as you suggested as a replacement.. As far as the parts pages on the internet, I don't think the companies will nback up and do that, they will in the future be making that option available. ....
