I brought the new Deere 4115 Tractor/Loader/Backhoe home last night. It has R-4's and the new 46 Backhoe.

Oh, for you plastic haters, it does have a plastic hood, but it has metal grill and side panels.

My BX22 (which is now for sale)has a metal hood and plastic grill and side panels.

Anyway, it is a nice machine. I will report on how it works as it shakes out......

I am very interested to hear how it works out as well. If I trade up it would be to this machine. Does it have plastice fenders as well ? Personally I just dont get all the buzz about plastic Vs metal. You get the one you like, thats the end of it. I hope it works out well. ....

Yes, I traded in the 4100. I still have to sell the BX.

Initial impressions: it is a bigger, beefier tractor than the 4100, even though it shares many of the same components.

It is 240# heavier than a 4110 HST, I haven't figured out why yet. Doesn't seem like stretching the wheelbase 6 inches could account for that much weight change.

I did some limited traction tests yesterday. With the backhoe attached (900 pounds)and R-4 tires, it climbed the steepest bank on the lot in 2wd. (!!!) I didn't even push the differential lock.

The rear rims are nearly 10 inches wide and dished way out so the width has increased from 48" to the low 50's, enough so that a 54 inch bucket looks like it will just cover the rear track.

It does feel more stable than the 4100. More later.... ....

Congratulations on the new machine !!

Since you maybe the only person in existance with the 46 B/H option, would you be able to give approx length and height with the FEL and backhoe? I realize the 4115 is bigger than the 4100, I just hoped for a general size dimension if possible.

Thanks in advance, and hurry up with those pictures!!! ....

I will try to shoot some pics today. As far as length, when I put it on a 16 foot trailer and lowered the hoe to rest on the deck, I didn't have any spare room on the trailer.

The BX22 is 14 feet long when it is all raised off the ground and about 15 feet with the hoe lowered so I am guessing the 4115 T/L/B maybe a foot longer.

After I solve my tire problem today and finish installing the front blade I will get the camera and the tape measure out. ....
