Got a '79 (older) L225. Won't stay in 1st/5th gear or 540 PTO speed. I'm told I need to split and install/replace Main Input Shaft, 1 gear, and some bearings. Since this "kit" is almost $900, I want all the advice I can get before starting. I have the I&T manual and a Ford Dealership mechanic who owes me a favor. Hope to start in 2 weeks from now.1. Is this an afternoon, weekend, or longer job?2. Is the split/rejoin a real pain?3. Any other advice/precautions?Thanks,Tommy D.Dalton, Ga.tduvall@alltel.net
