cant seem to find tread where someone was talking about pulling 6.5 disk with 30 HP machine.looking to get one here shortly and was wondering how they said it work for them.the one im looking at weights 570 lbs. and has 20 sixteen inch disk, notched in front and smooth in the rear.would like to hear your thoughts again.

forgot to mention i tryed 6ft pull type with out much luck beings it out weighted the one im looking at now by almost double. plus i have no rear hyd hook up. neibor droped it off his tractor with it set alittle to deep for mine, and i could not lift it. might of done better if i could of lifted some, but it was still seamed too heavy for the 790. ....

I have a heavy 6 or 7ft set of disks that I normally use with my large tractor. My son wanted a small patch last year for water mellons so I put them on the JD955. It did fine on the small tractor.
The 790 is a little light in the 3pt lift so? ....

There are several things to consider here. The soil type, they will penetrate easier in sandy type soils vs clay and gravel. The angle of the discs will also change the amount of penetration. Here in central NY with the variety of soils we have I listen first at this time as to what they have for hills as well as the soil types. ....
