What implement to maintain borrow pits

The borrow pits flanking my driveway are rocky and full of brushy weeds. The slopes are too steep to sidehill safely. What's the appropriate implement for mowing or beating down the weeds? I was thinking perhaps a sickle bar, but it looks too fragile to use around all those rocks. I have a kubota 2100. Thanks for any suggestions. This is a very helpful message board!Steve
