YM220 Air Filter

I'm looking for an air filter for a Yanmar YM220. I found a "local" Yanmar parts dealer but he wants about $42.00 for the air filter. Has anyone used any other brands of air filters besides the Yanmar filter on their YM220? If so, could you post filter make/number. Also, could you advise if you noticed any adverse affects from using a non-Yanmar filter. Thanks

You might try local john deere dealer if you have one nearby. Take your old filter along and they might match it up with a deere filter since some earlier deere compacts were basicly yanmars with deere paint. I have successfully matched some up in the past ,although I can't comment on the 220 specificaly. Part # CH12767 is a common filter and it lists for under $20. ....

Thanks for the reply. I've thought about going to the local John Deere dealer, but just haven't gotten a chance yet. $20.00 is a whole lot better than $40.00! ....
