Hello all,
I need to get a feel for the value of my 86 JD 755. It has a belly mower and a 70 loader. Close to 1000 hrs. I have owned it since 91 and it has been well maintained. The only problem it has is cosmetic, in that the paint has come off in chunks on the metal body. The hood is fine. Overall a good tractor. I am not looking to sell, but need to get an approximate value due to a divorce settlement. Thanks to any and all who reply.
Mike

Having been through the divorce settlement thing many years ago, I offer some general advice. Since this forum is made up of good people from all parts of North America (maybe other parts of the world), I suggest getting a price appraisal from the nearest qualified person (dealer or auctioneer) to your location. Since prices vary by market / location, a good appraisal in your market area will serve you better.
Best of luck. ....

According to machinerylink, com it says about 5K or 6K with loader. I thought the # would be higher but better lower than higher. At least it is a published price. ....

Mike: I also had a 755 that lost paint on much of the metal body panels. It usually started along an edge where some wear or ding would undercut it. Then apparently moisture would work underneath and before i knew it there were blisters and large flakes sloughing off everywhere.
This was in the early 90's. My dealer got JD to repaint the unit; he mentioned some problem with the metal prep, and since the paint isn't primed, it came "undone". The calendar has probably negated your window to get JD's help, unfortunately for you as a prideful JD owner.
However, relative to your situation, I'd judge the unit to be scrap value only (it's what we in Wis refer to as being "progressive two-tone".)
