I've been brainstorming about building a stand for my PHD. Has anyone gone through this? I'm looking for something not only for the digger to stand on when I'm not using it, but also to be able to pick the whole thing up and put it in the bed of my pickup when I trailer my tractor to wherever I may be working. There isn't enough room on the trailer for the tractor with loader/backhoe and the PHD. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Bird, that's sort of what I've been imagining. Helps to see the angles and everything put together. ....

The pic looks pretty good. It might even be the same PHA I've got. The simple version of a stand I've heard of is just chaining the auger to a heavy low tree limb.

At the moment, my auger is folded on top of my 3ph forklift, which is usually what I use to put implements in my trailer or 1/2-ton bed (tricky without the forklift because there's a cap on the bed). I think I put the auger on top of the forklift using a bit of help from the loader and wife. Both were tarped over the winter (the auger and forklift that is), and I've really got to solve my shed space problem. If I keep going in this vein, I’ll likely have other problems to solve as well.

As you've probably discovered, augers are very awkward things. Take care with them. Injuries are common when mounting them and when operating them. I usually want some help when getting them on and off them.
