I have a newish CC 7205. When I raise the rear hydrolic lever, it whines, skreeches, makes a not so pleasant sound. No sound like that for the front bucket. Hydrolic fluid is clean and full. Any ideas? Is this normal, do any of you experience this? Has done it since new (80 hours).

Thanks, Greg in Oregon

Greg: I think there is a recent lengthy discussion on the same subject in the archives. I'm not sure all the problems were resolved, but pressure relief valve adjustment seemed to be a big part of the solution.

The sound you're hearing probably is a relief valve. You should get a similar sound by running the loader to the limit of its movement and holding the control valve open for a few seconds. The sound may come from a different location since there often are more than one relief valve on a tractor. It's a good sound to recognize because it doesn't do a pump any good to operate for prolonged periods with an open relief valve.

Most likely suspect is a relief valve, as noted. Second choice would be the limit switch on the 3 point hitch. If it's mis-adjusted, the relief will pop before the three point reaches maximum lift mechanically. You'll notice the noise when you move the three point lever to the full up position and leave it there. Try pushing the lift lever slowly in the "down" direction and watch the three point. If the screeching stops before the 3 point moves, that's your problem. ....
