I was at a bone yard yesterday and stumbled across this item. A John Deere Power Plant. Appeared to be a 1 cylinder radiator cooled unit with a PTO coming out of it?! Anyone know what this was and used for and could fill me in on it?

Looking at the picture, I think I see two plug wires coming out of the magneto, which makes more sense to me. At a guess, it might be an engine out of a John Deere L or LA. I don't know if those engines were ever used as "power units" or not, but it's certainly possible. John Deere did make a lot of skid-mount power units. ....
