What should be the approximate settings for the High idle screw (big screw in front of the Carb)and the small screw (not sure what this screw controls)on the front side of the carb be? The Tractor is running rough when I give the tractor a lot of throttle. I changed the points, condensor, rotor, and cap - but I did not change the wires -I guess I could have some bad plug wires? (do not know when they were changed out last)I plan on replacing plug wires.
Any advice?
Thank you in advance.

Run the throttle up near to full throttle and adjust your high speed screw for the smoothest and highest rpm. If adjusting the screw doesn't help much, then either your high speed circuit in the carb has dirt in it or some other defect with it. If the carb is OK, the first thing I'd look at is ignition timing. Did you check that when you intalled the points? If you don't get the points gapped right, the timing will be off. Without being there and hearing it run it's hard to diagnose the problem. I wish you good luck. ....

You might want to check the tightness of the attachment bolt of the carburator/governor control rod assembly. You can gain access to to it over the top of the other side of the engine. I rebuilt the carb and tuned up the engine and the tractor (MF 150) was still running rough. Bu tthen I tightened this bolt it it runs like a charm. ....
