Late-'99 TC29D w/ SS, turf, 60" MMM, radio ("expensive" one per dealer), new hood to replace a dented one, 580+ hrs, "50/50 powertrain warranty" for $13,500 (not including tax) in east central IL. Good price? What sort of things might I negotiate for - eg. along the lines of routine servicing, delivery (23 mi), etc - regardless of the price? While I could see myself eventually wanting to add a FEL (primarily because every one I know who has a compact tells me they are very useful, even if you can't yet imagine why you would need one) and a posthole digger, I'm not certain enough at this point to want to bring these into any negotiations at present. Thanks.

I paid 17,600 for my 29D without ss, but with the fel and 5ft. brushhog. Price doesnt seem that bad. I think the tractor new would be about 13k with SS, another $4500 for the fel and $850 for the hog. Whats the 50/50 warrenty? And how could the hood be dented its made of plastic, cracked I could see but dented? I know on my experiences for purchasing a tractor(about 4 months, with 1 annoyed wife) I found the price differences between used and new where to close. The financing was also terrible on used compared to new(12% to 5%) and also warrenty 2yrs. new to nothing for used. I opted for new and have no regrets, could luck in your search. ....

I priced a Demo TC29D No SS with 160 hrs yesterday. Full warranty less the 160 hr with NH financing 48 MO 4.9% $11950 base $3100 for loader 60" $390 for Back blade. Turf tires. Need to add tax. I think this one sounds like a better deal. I'm trying to get past the wife. I want this tractor.I'm in Mich. I thought this would be a good time to shop but the dealer said he has seen do drop off of the Boomers due to the economy. A little hard to believe but that was what he was slinging. ....

I would suggest no less than the 72" MMM with the TC29 SS. Seems to me the tractor is 60" wide measured to the outside of the tread. If you buy one, I have been told the rear discharge deck works nicely. I had the side discharge on mine. Also, find out if the recall for the hydro transmission applies to that '99. If there is no warranty, I would have it done first. It requires the tractor to be dismantled and broken twice to get the job done. Good luck. ....
