I just bought a zen-noh [Kubota] tractor. The yoke on my new Rollins
4 ft bushhog and the pto output shaft do not match. Both are 6 spline
and measures the same as far as I can tell . You can't get close
enouth to make an accurate measurement. Any one know what the
next move is.

Don
I would check the PTO shafts of other equipment that you have and see if they fit.
Often there is paint on the new splines. The thickness of the paint will not allow the yoke to attach. ....

I wonder if doesn't match means that it's a tight fit that won't quite start, that some things just don't line up or it goes on but doesn't lock?

I'm with Peters in that there's only so many PTO shaft standards, and I can't imagine a manufacture making something just a little bit off. Maybe the ends of the yoke and shaft would make grease prints on paper so it would be easy to see if the patterns on each are the same.

However, I did have kind of a 'dark thought.' I think we figured out here that the tractor is made by Kubota for a Japanese coop. Since it's a coop tractor, I wonder if there's a slight possibility that it was manufactured so that it can only use implements from the same coop. That would be a problem.
