Help JD 4000 stuck in gear

I have a 2 year old JD 4100 gear. Over the weekend it got stuck in 2nd gear. H/L/R neutral works fine but I cannot get it out of 2nd. Has this happened to anyone or any ideas what may be wrong? I am afraid it may need to spend a lot of time and money at the shop ?--George

Hey, George, I see that there was a similar thread about being stuck in reverse on the board which might be helpful. I also thought there was another discussion on this board about JD transmission problems in the 4000 series, but now I can't find it. Seems like there was some issue of out-of-warranty units being fixed for free because of manufacturing defects ... anyone remember this? ....
