I need to do some cement and masonary work. I was considering purchasing a PTO cement mixer rather than a stand alone. I have 2 tractors so could allow on to mix and the other to move sand etc. Does any one have any experience with these units. Are the plastic drums any good?

We have several of these type of mixers, including one with a 'plastic' drum, actually HDPE (high density poly ethelyne) which I had to purchase 'in a pinch' in order to finish up a big job. It turned out to be the best of them, if you don't get the drum cleaned out right away and a little cement stays behind, as is normally the case, a couple whacks with a rubber mallet and all the dry cement fallls out and the drum is clean as a whistle. As an added bonus it is about 200 lbs. lighter than the steel drum version. Try to find one that has, or can be adapted to dump hydraulically, meaning the operator can dump without leaving the drivers seat. Best of luck. ....
