I am currently in the market for a 30 - 35 hp compact diesel tractor to maintain a five acre horse farm. I am looking for high reliability, good resale value, and best value for the money. I have look primarily at the New Holland Boomer - TC33D and the JD 4300-4400 tractors. I like features on both, but the JD seems to have slightly higher capacities. Does anyone have any thoughts or recommendations to share on which is the better tractor for the money. Prices are pretty much the same.Appreciate any feedback. Thanks

Just went through the same thing, decided on JD4300. Should have it in a few weeks. Liked weight, engineering details (direct injection), loader(430) capacity, and resale. Looking over the board you'll see lots on both sides, NH supersteer was tempting. Good Luck ....

I test drove a TC29D before I bought my 4300. The NewHolland Boomer series are excellent tractors based upon my initial evaluation. I went with 4300 because I was trading a JD 855 and I received the best price on the Deere. I also was impressed with the speed in which I can attach and detach my 430 loader. It can actually be attached or detached in less than two minutes. Since I don't like to mow or do other chores with the loader attached this was a great feature. I am not sure how NewHolland stacks up against Deere in this category as the NewHolland dealer did not have a loader to try out. I also am fortunate to have a dealer (Isenberg Equipment in Spring Valley, MN) that not only gives me a good price but provides excellent service and support. The Boomer series with the Supersteer option are unmatched in turning and the tractor fits the operator well. I also like their telescoping three point hitch draft arms. The two tractors are very close in my opinion and it may come down to the best price and dealer support. Deere probably gets the edge when it comes to resale value although I suspect the Boomer series will hold their resale value quite well. ....

tried TC 29 and had vibration in steering wheel . JD 4300 seem like alot more tractor for $ Loader has more capacity ....

Hey folks, I just bought the NH TC33D. After much though, several test drives,and lots of good feedback, I decided on the Boomer. Even my friend who is a trueJohn Deere fan and does excavating/landscaping for a business recommended theBoomer. I got a TC33D, with the 7308 68" bucket loader, calcium filled ag tires, and a 60" rotary mower for $19,591. I thought it was a pretty good deal. The comparableJD 4300 was about $1,000 higher. I liked the Boomer features better.Hopefully this will last me many years. Thanks for all the input on this website! ....
