Hello All,Somebody had a post a while back on a homemade counter weight. I can't remember when or who. I would like a compact weight for tight work with my Nh 21d. When I was a kid we made a counter weight out of an old water tank and railroad scrap but I don't think that would be practical on a compact.

Thanks Jeff,
That looks like a pretty nice idea he has there and it seem much more cost effective than buying from the dealer. I like them and all but I spend to much money there as it is.

Well, for those of you who want a counterweight like Mike's (very cool) version, but who lack welding and fabricating skills, you might check my webpage. I built a very simple counterweight for my TC18 out of an old 3-pt implement, some concrete, and a Rubbermaid bucket! It worked great and cost less than $50 in total. ....

Nice job, Rich! Resourceful and inexpensive, and no welding involved! Now you have to spend another $5 for rustoleum primer and paint to really make it look sharp with that TC18. ....

What, do I look like I'm MADE of money? ;-) ;-)
But seriously, I am thinking of buying a can of blue paint and hitting the rust with a sandblaster. Then I can tell people it's a genuine "New Holland Calibrated Long Moment Ballasting System" or something like that!
