When I changed my oil in my 2000 jd4200 for the first time I encountered a problem with the factory replacement oil filter M801209. This oil filter was larger in diameter than the original oil filter. I consulted my owner manual to check my dealer for the correct number and this was the correct number. The seal was the same size and it installed correctly. My problem began when I tried to install my side cover with my 420 loader installed (never had a problem removing both side covers in the past). The new larger oil filter was in the way of my lower side cover bracket. I called my dealer and they researched it and told me that John Deere has came out with a new filter for compacts with a loader. The number is M806419 and after I examined the filter it is a twin to the painted original filter in size and it had the quality O-Ring gasket and anti-drain back valving and it was the even the same price as the JD knock off of the Yanmar filter. This filter even had instructions in english and Japanese. I recommend the use of the M806419 to anyone who wants to put back the same filter they removed from the factory that built the engine, Loader or not.

Thanks for the info Steve ... the larger 801209 fit ok with my 430 loader, but I'll change to the 806419 this Spring. This board's great! ....
