Interested in buying a Yanmar2000..was told that it is a later 80s model..It is in very good condition will 870 hrs...asking $4200 is this a fair price.. Also would like to know abotu any problems that this model may have and what to look for in a good used tractor...Any info would be great..also are paarts for this tractor available and with what other products are they interchangable with????????

Billy, I have the same tractor. I have 7 tractors and it is my only import. It is one tough tractor. I have is set up for mowing with a 3pt finish mower. I swapped the tire rims around so it had a wider wheel base,(although not a lot wider, but every few inches helps) and replaced the seat so I could sit in it. Don't know if I would trust the hour meeter, as they roll over without you knowing it, the oil filter can be found at NAPA. I am impressed with the tractor. I like the 3 speed pto, for tilling and running a roller pump for a spray rig. I paid $5200 for it. That included the 5ft tiller, and the mower. I see the mower lists for $950.00. I would buy another. Dave ....

The ym2000 was built in the late 70's. If your buying from a dealer he should know that. The ym240 is the US version of the ym2000. Billy the last the YM 2000 was built was 1977, they are very good tractors.
We sell our YM 2000 w/ tiller for $ 3850. We are in central Alabama, so the price may be higher in your area.
