I got one of those glass bowl fuel filters on my SD-1643
I have been operating this tractor for the last 2 years without changing it ...no Problems... But not sure how I should go about changing it without a replacment filter to go in it.
Also dont no if it has to be bleed off after changing it.
Can someone kindy give me some addvise...Please.
Thank you
Mike

Hi Mike, I have a SD2600 which also has a glass fuel bowl, I am not sure if they are the same but NAPA was able to match up my old one (NAPA #3507). To change, shut off fuel valve at the tank, loosed the ring on the top of the glass bowl. If you do not have a spaner wrench use something blunt to tap the ring to unscrew it. Clean out the bowl with a clean shop rag, do not loose the spring, change the filter, install the new gasket and reinstall the glass bowl. Turn the fuel back on and open the bleeder screw on the top of the fuel filter. My model has a hand pump on the injector pump to help prime the system, when the fuel comes out of the bleeder screw tighten it and start the tractor and check for leaks. Hope this helps. Gary ....
