MHarris, Zimmerer on Loop 12 in Irving has a good reputation for service, but you can beat their prices if you don't mind driving south on I-35 to Central Tractor in Waxahachie or Tipton International in Waco. ....

How much difference have you experienced between Zimmerer and the dealer in Waxahachie? I have always liked to take my equipment back to the dealer where I purchased it. Waxahachie is 60 miles vs 15 miles from me. I am planning to buying an L3010 soon. Several dollars difference might persuade me to driving a little farther. I haven't found much difference between dealers on new equipment. e.g. L3010 in Forney quoted at $18,149 and in Longview, $18,000. ....

James, I can't say what the difference would be now, since I haven't priced the tractors at the different dealers lately. In '95, I visited all three of those places, in addition to Vitter's in Corsicana, while I was shopping for a tractor. When I decided what I wanted (a B7100 with a B1630C front end loader), I simply called each of them, told them exactly what I wanted, and asked what was the best deal they could make me (I didn't tell any of them that I was checking elsewhere and didn't tell any of them what the others had offered to sell it for). Vitter was highest (and there are other reasons I'd avoid them), Zimmerer was next, Central Tractor (Wapiti Equipment was the name then), and Tipton International was the best price. I bought from Tipton, and then when I traded up to the B2710, I didn't shop around; just traded with Tipton (and think I got as good a deal as I could have gotten anywhere).

But I agree that it would be worth a little more (if it isn't too much) to buy from a nearby dealer for service. ....

I few months back I quoted and purchased a L3010GST-4WD with 66" Front end loader, 5' Bush Hog box blade, 5' Bush Hog Rotary Cutter, and R4 Tires. Tractor was about 14k, Loader about $3800, box blade and cutter were around 1800 combined... Might try Tyler/Henderson area if you dont mind a 90-115 mile drive..
