I know I've been away from the board for many months. The sale of the acreage and move to Wisconsin has consumed a ton of time. Today is a sad day as I posted the JD 4310 for sale. It just doesn't make sense to keep it. It's the biggest mower in the neighborhood, but I can't justify keeping it for a 1 acre lot. Plus I don't have the garage space since I don't have a shop like I had with the farm. I'll be very sad to see it go.

Sigh...guess I'm transitioning into a suburbanite. Sigh...There are plans to trade the pickup in on a smaller vehicle. An F250 diesel long bed 4x4 just doesn't maneuver through a city too well. Plus I got a second kid arriving soon and it's just not equipped to handle two kiddie seats. I'd like to keep a pickup, but the cost of a new one is ridiculous these days. And I'm facing an extra $1000 a month in daycare next March. Yikes!

So this is a sad day for sure.

For those who noticed my absence, I apologize for being gone. Been busy fixing a badly built house (long story or leaking chimneys, bad landscaping, etc), work, unpacking, and helping my cheapskate brother build a house (another long story).

Man, I'm depressing myself... I better go get a cold beverage (soda...)

Iowafun,

I'm sorry to hear that you're leaving the rural life behind. It is, indeed, a sad day.

The bright side to the story is that your little ones won't stay little forever. They grow up quickly. Not long from now, you'll be looking for a place in the country, where your tractor will have the freedom to roam.

I'm an old country boy who lived in the city for as long as I had to. As soon as I had the opportunity to leave that dumb crap behind, I did.

Don't get too depressed over this. Time passes quickly. You'll be out in wilderness again as soon as the kiddies are old enough to drive themselves to court. hehehe.

Keep your chin up. This isn't the end of the world......it just seems like it. Drink one for me, will ya? (soda, that is.)

Joel ....

Sorry to hear you have left your country property.

Wish you the best in you nwe suburb stile arrangement. I am starting a Garden Tractor and Mower sections shortly so meaybe you can get some use out of that, unless you go the route of many in the suburbs to just give it to a landscape service ;) ....
