I am considering buying a used JD 425 or 445.The 425 has 200 hours and 60" deck. Price is $5950.The 445 has 130 hours and 60" deck. Price is $7000.Which is the better deal? Are the prices reasonable?

Hi. Just came across your post. I have a JD 425 w/54" deck 125hrs. comes w/54" hydralic angle push blade, wheel weights, tire chains, extra set of tires (Turf), weight bar in back, extra mower blades, excellent condition for $7200. We live in Ohio. ....

I am sure you are aware the only differnce id 2hp but the 445 has a taller stance with larger tires....a new 425 out of the bow with a 54" mower is $7850 a ne 445 with a 60" mower is $8850 ....

I own a 1994 J.D. 445 with 60" deck. It has 1600 hours on it and still runs great. I would spend the extra money and get the 445. Only 2 hp difference, but overall a larger unit. It will have more that enough power to spin the 54" mower deck.
