I ordered two chippers and a BX24 and I went to look at me new BX24 and was sad to say that it has rust spots on the cylinders (quarter size paint chip missing) and other areas. Also had 2.9 hours on it, probably a demo. But the real kicker here was with all the rain and humidty we have in Miami- no one moved it under cover and the display had water in it (yes in it) and the bucket was 1/2 full of water.
Needlees to say the dealer told me it would be Sept. or Oct. before I could get a "new" unit from Kubota. So I made one phone call to Ft. Lauderdale (30 mins from me) and found one that was just delivered last week.
I walked away from one bad situation and believe I found a better one...but the old saying goes as this:
Buyer Beware.

From the sounds of it, it might have been a left over. From time to time we all get them in one machine size or another. I've often figured that if we could get the orders down right to have no left overs at the end of the season I might head to a casino!
We from time to time find a machine that does need some extra attention do to shipping or crating errors and they do get set to the side for lack of time. Unfortunately thats the one you saw! ....

Yeah it is a shame- it looked like a demo. But what really bothered me is the fact that I was told it arrived in crate from Kubota, only to find out a dealer in Lakeland shipped it to Miami as requested by the Miami dealer.
Either way- I should have been asked about it but the unit looked like it was treated pretty rough. ....
