Could be a number of things.....

Thanks for responding Ronald,
What am I looking for on the ignition switch. I'm a total novice. I just don't have the money to pay someone to fix it. I'll get out the manuel to see what the ignition switch looks like.
Do I need to test it? How do I do that if I can't get it to start?
Also, I think it happens more when it's cold outside. It doesn't seem to happen when it's above 75 outside.
Could it have to do with the glow plug heating system?
Thank you for your input!
I really appreciate the help

Do you know if it blows the fuse when you....turn the key on ?, when you heat the glow plugs , when you turn to crank? or blows while cranking?

Hey Ronald,
It blows it the second I turn the key to start it. It does not crank at all. Just a little click sound which is the fuse breaking.

It's hard to cover everything in a post but,
Take the litte/small wire off the starter solenoid and make sure it is not touching anything and see if it will blow the fuse then.
If it does ... odds are ingition switch is bad.
If it blows only with the wire connected to the solenoid then odds are the solenoid is bad.
Also, the small wire off the solenoid could be contacting ground ?
let us know

There are two positions on the ignition switch to activate the starter. One in the normal position like a car and one full anticlockwise. Try cranking the engine by turning the key full anticlockwise. This will not activate the glows but if it cranks then the following may be your solution. There is a point just before start where Jinma ignitions tend to activate both the starter solenoid and the glow plugs at the same time. If you turn the key too slow after activating the glow plugs both the solenoid and glow plugs together will draw too many amps and blow the fuse. This can be overcome by turning the key to glow then quickly turning the key to start. Alternatively turning the key to glow then turning the key full anticlockwise to activate the starter only. Once running turn the key to on. ....

You can bypass the switch in the meantime, and if it runs OK that way, that should tell you it is the switch. Learn how to "jump" start it.
You could use a screwdriver blade or anything metal, but I suggest get a few inches of thick wire insulated except at the two ends about 1/4 inch. Learn what two starter terminals you jump. A diesel doesn't need the ignition to be on, only the battery doesn't get charged while running that way. ....

That's not quite true in most cases.
Almost all 'modern' tractors have a fuel shutoff relay to stop the engine when the key is shut off. If there is no power to that relay, the fuel pump will never generate pressure because the fuel will just get dumped back to the tank instead of spraying out the injectors.
No power to the relay means no fuel.
Best of luck. ....
