CLUTCH PEDAL FREE PLAY ON MY MT210D

The clutch on my tractor will not disengage unless the linkage is adjusted such that the clutch lever on the bell housing is against the stop when the pedal is fully depressed. Otherwise the clutch action is smooth and firm, never slips or jerks. Usually as a clutch disk wears it requires adjustment in the other direction, this would seem that the disk is too thick or what, a broken part on the pressure plate? This tractor has 980 hours on it. Any experience with this?
