Does anyone know a good place look for a used JD 60" belly mower for a John Deere 790? I know they're hard to find used, but any suggestions would be great (the closer to NE Ohio, the better). New ones are just so expensive.

Have you ever thought about pulling a high quality tow behind lawn mower. This would eliminate having to buy an expensive replacement belly mower. With a tow behind wing mower extended to the side you can mow under low branch trees as well as steep banks. Come see us at www.kunzeng.com. ....

If you are not set on a belly-mower, suggest you look at a rear finish mower. I have a LandPride FD2560 that I pull with my 790, it dose an outstanding job. Their rear discharge is also a good unit. ....

Persistence pays off. After more calls to dealers, I happened to find a 60" belly mower off a 770 on a local dealer's lot. It had an estimated 100 hours on it and was in good shape, although missing some parts. After buying the deck and ordering all the missing parts, I ended up with a nice mower for about $1050. Timing (mid-January) was in my favor, plus he was glad to not have to mess with it. ....
