Box Blades Price Check Which Brand

I've been looking at 5' box blades for my compact and have the following prices King Kutter $339, Monroe Tufline TB160 $373 and Bush Hog $500. The Bush hog looks to be the best quality but is it worth the extra bucks? Any tips would be appreciated.

As a landscaper I may view things a little different from the average homeowner....BUT...being raised on a farm I was taught early that a working man cannot afford NOT to buy top quality, that way you will never have to replace it. Besides if your luck is like mine, it will fail at the most inconvenient of times. Now I am not reflecting here on a particular brands quality, just a general principle. As for box blades in particular, I'm sure others here will tell you, it is almost impossible to have a blade that is too heavy or too strong. In fact most box blades I have seen, even in commercial service, have had weights added to them and re-enforcements made to them as well. As the old saying goes, "take your time deciding, you will be married to her a long time...." Happy New Years to all!!! ....

Im with Murf on the Box blades, the heavyer the better. I have a Gill (Woods) SR65 and it weighs 650 pounds and I sometimes add as much as 400 pounds to mine. I paid 1250.00 and its a retractable scare bar model. Tom ....

Thanks for the input guys. I bought the 5' Monroe Tufline TB160 which weighs 483 pounds and cost me less than $400 with tax. This is cheaper than bologna. I looked at three models and the Bushhog at 500 lbs. looked to be the heaviest duty, but for over $100 more than the Monroe and the same weight I didn't think that for the limited use I will make of the tool it would be worth the extra bucks. ....
