Does anyone know if there is a place where I can buy a 6 volt battery pack for jump starting. I know that a 12 volt battery pack is available, but I want a 6 volt for starting some of my old tractors when they need a little help which seems to be quite often.

I have been told---and have done many times myself---that using 12 volts to jump start a 6v is okay. Made the ol' Ford 9N start like someone gave it a new engine! I wouldn't run any accessories when you're doing it--like the headlights which will probably blow with double the power.

If you are still convinced you want to use a pure 6v power pak, try looking into sealed lead-acid batteries used for alarms and automatic-on fire exit signs and security lighting. Do a search on the web for "surplus 6 volt" batteries. ....
