I'm real close to closing a deal on an L3130GST, FEL723, and BH90 package and would like some help from you guys who have been in my shoes already. I have been working with 2 dealers...the local dealer and a dealer I found on the internet. They are way off on final package figures so I need some advice. Local dealer quoted me $27,012 without tax which appears to be list minus 10%. The BH90 was quoted as $7397 w/18" bucket. The FEL723 was $4954 for quick attach, HD bucket, and wear blade. Package also includes delivery and AG tire fill with Calcium Chloride.
The "internet" dealer quoted me $17,400 for L3130Hst, FEL723 and an additional $6100 for the BH90! That's $23,500 without tax. All I have to do is fly there to see them in person per internet policy. That seems awful cheap and I don't want to get suckered into something where I end up paying huge $$$ for "other" stuff. Thanks in advance to anyone willing to throw some advice my way.

rocco - That is the exact set up I have. I bought it last spring. I paid $26,500 + tax. I shopped at about 6 dealers. $26,200 was the best I could find but They said it would be 8 - 10 weeks to take delivery & I didnt want to waite so I paid a few hundred extra to get it sooner. In my opinion, I wouldn't buy outside of my home state due to warrenty issues. If you are using it strickly for personal use then it may not be so critical to you if the machine is out for a while but I use mine commercially practically everyday & down time is everything. As grinder mentioned, Art White is a member on here & a real nice, down to earth guy who I didnt know at the time of my purchase otherwise I probably would have spoke to him about purchasing from him. ....

I'd be sure the details of the unit are the same. Are the tires having tubes installed before loading? Do both units have the better bucket and cutting edge? Let's look at the choices, your time to arrange the flight, take the flight, make the arrangements for transportation of the tractor, and maybe a few details of the price adjusted for unpriced options and you might save only a few hundred dollars depending on how you look at costs, or maybe you work with your local dealer and develop a relationship with the guy who you will ask for help if something happens as well. You do have some choices as the two prices are quite different and I can see both but the lower price has some inital additional costs that could be even larger later or at least a bit embarassing. ....

Roc,
I just took delivery yesterday of my new Kubota - L3430 GST, R4's, and 723 w/quick 'tach - $19,250.00. The price I had on L3130 GST w/R4's and quick 'tach was $18,400.00. I spent a few months, and visited 6 dealers. One was approx 150 miles away and the other 5 were within an 80 mile radius of my farm. The two dealers that I felt the best about turned out to have the best prices. Good Luck, Rob ....

Happy Thanksgiving...hope you all had a good holiday. (I have to work, but still had some good food.) Thanks for the advice and things to consider. I'm wondering about GST verus HST...I understand the concepts, but any regrets from any of you who have one or the other? A dealer said GST was best of both worlds...what are your thoughts? No matter how many brochures I read, the best way to arm myself with knowledge is to ask ??? of those you who have already been down the road...thanks. ....

How's that GST tranny working out? I'm open to both GST/HST as long as they are both reliable. Does gear shifting happen quickly and easily. I know how HST works because I have it on my garden tractor, but I've never used GST before. ....

Does the gst shift quickly you ask....I will say that it does. There is a quick pause between shifts, sometimes you wont even feel it. The only time you will is going up hill. I love my Gst & would never want anything else! Thats just me though. I will say that you wont be shifting as much as you thnk you will. I find myself in #6 90% of the time with just using my shuttle to go forward to reverse alot. You can start out in #6 from a stopped position yet that gear has alot of power & has a good range of speed from idle to full throttle. #1, #6 & #11 are my 3 most often used gears. ....
