Looking for Help! Just purchased a new 2005 Kubota L3430HSTC. The one option I didn't purchase was the stereo and speakers. Does anyone know the specifics on the stereo headunit size applicable, is the wiring harness in the roof along with the antennae? Basically, what will I need to get to install an aftermarket stereo and speakers?

Sorry I can't answer your specific question, but when we installed the cab on our 7800, we went with stereo headphones instead of the headliner system. The stereo headphones are nice because they reduce the hydro noise and provide excellent sound. Instead of creating more noise to get over the tractor noise, the headphones do both.

I'm not sure because all of ours came with a stereo.
I do however seem to remember seeing something in the manual about the wiring harness being there behind the headliner, and that you get to it, and most other things, by removing the outside shell and going down in that way.
When I was ordering ours the dealer (who is a good friend and a real straight shooter) said that even if I saved a couple bucks with aftermarket units, the installation would gobble up any savings, and then some. Having said that, I think I'm going to upgrade the head unit and speakers in my own unit. I want a MP3 player, and often work in areas (my cottage) where the reception sucks anyways.
Also, I think another member "jonathanengr" who has a L3430 had the same problem with installing a stereo. You may want to search through the archives a bit, I seem to recall he gave us an update after he figured it out.

Thanks for your input. Unfortunately my tractor came without, and when looking at the stereo option, I should be able to upgrade with a headunit that is MP3 ready, and XM Sattellite ready with Infinity speakers for about $250 (not installed - that is another $100) versus the $550 quote from the dealer.
If all else fails, I may have the dealer install the Kubota system which I believe is a Panasonic with a Kubota stamp.

We have a brand new B3030 HSDC. The panasonic stereo is very high quality. It's a am/fm/wb/cd with in built outside digital thermostat, the speakers are ok, not great. ....

Thanks to everyone whom replied. I finally went with a Pioneer Stereo/CD with flip down face/XM Ready, XM Satellite receiver & Infinity Speakers. It is being installed as we speak, and, I took a suggestion from another thread and am having the rubber ducky antennae placed lying in the roof compartment as opposed to being attached to the glass. When it is all said and done I will have the following into it:
Stereo: $150
Satellite Receiver & connections: $70
Speakers: $65
Antennae: $20
Installation Labor (Dealer): $85
Total: $390
Not a huge savings over the Factory setup which was quoted at $550, but, I expect a much better system. Also, my dealer was really great to work with, especially when I suggested the antennae as he was unaware of setting it up as such, but thought it would make sense and prolong the life of it without trees scraping it from the cab.
