My old huge Farmall tractor died so I'm in the market for another tractor and am attracted to the Yanmar 2310D with loader. Since I'm coming from a tractor that had twice the HP of the Yanmar I'm hoping someone can give me some guidance if 26.5Hp is enough. I plan on digging quite a few post holes, disking an arena with a 400lb disk, cleaning corrals and a little dirt work. I live in northern Colorado at about 6500 altitude.

The second part of my question is reliability: I won't have time to fix it myself or wait a long time if parts can't located. Reliability is a major concern for me.
Are they as good or better than John Deere or Kubota?

Thanks, I really appreciate any guidanc eyou can provide.

I think the YM2310 will surprise you with the power it has. I think these tractors hp rating is on the conservative side. The Yanmar tractors are good tractors. A bigger factor in reliability is the condition of the tractor. Buy a quality tractor, not just on price, I can supply parts & manuals for the YM2310. sheaftractor@coiinc.com ....
