Hello
Anyone have any ideas or information on how to proceed to troubleshoot and fix a problem with the front wheel drive. The select lever seems to operate something in the gearcase, and with motor off I hear a clicking sound, similar to a switch. But the front wheels do not engage.
Thanks

There is not switch.Jack up one side the front end & see if the driveshaft turns when you turn the wheel. ....

I can see what I think is a universal joint just outside the front differential and that is turning. There is a clamp about halfway down on the driveshaft, would this be the place where I could see if the driveshaft turns as I turn a front wheel?
Once again,thanks

Check where it comes out of transmission to confirm that all of the driveshaft is OK with the fwd lever Engaged. ....

I've found the problem. The splined shaft coming out of the front differential is worn,so the coupling from the drive shaft slips over it.The coupling itself is worn somewhat but most of the wear is on the differential spline.Do you think I have any hopes of finding replacement parts? Thanks ....

shaft coming out of the differential is not quite 20mm,surely because of wear. The driveshaft is 20mm and the spline count is 14.Can I remove the worn input shaft by just removing the rounded housing or the whole axle has to be dismantled? ....

Hi.I've taken the front differential apart and have the input shaft out.Do you think that you can get one. There are 14 splines and shaft would be 20mm if thats possible.
Thanks ....
